Stadiums I’ve been to

Football

  • Notre Dame Stadium (Too many times to mention. My first game as a student we beat the defending national champion Wolverines, rushed the field, and then my roommate and I were the first ones in the fountain at Stonehenge.)
  • Candlestick Park (Once when I was young to see Montana play versus Warren Moon and the Oilers. A couple times in the last 5 years)
  • Michigan Stadium, University of Michigan (Notre Dame got their ass kicked 38-0 and I got to sit with a bunch of 1st year MBA kids who had been Michigan fans for exactly 2 hours. I’ll take a licking from a real fan, but come on.)
  • M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore (Notre Dame vs. Navy)
  • Husky Stadium, University of Washington (Notre Dame vs. Washington, first Weis vs. Willingham game, the “Pass Right” game.)
  • Stanford Stadium (Seen the Irish trounce the Cardinal a number of times. A couple times in the pouring rain.)
  • Doak Campbell Stadium, Florida State (FSU/Duke when I went to visit Mark over fall break sophomore year)
  • Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, USC (Technically I was IN the stadium, but I was so far away from the field it was hard to tell. ND USC 2006)
  • Rose Bowl (The one highlight of the horrific 2007 season was watching Crum destroy UCLA’s offense from front row seats in the end zone)
  • California Memorial Stadium, Berkeley (Saw Berkeley/Oregon at the zenith of both of their programs. Good game, but football’s just not the same outside the midwest.)
Baseball
  • Candlestick Park (Giants games when I was a kid. Was a huge Will Clark and Candy Maldonado fan.)
  • Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T Park (2nd most attended after Notre Dame Stadium. I kicked off work early on my birthday in July 2003 (maybe 2004) and saw Barry Bonds (on his birthday) throw an amazing ball in from left field to get the runner on 3rd out at home and end the inning. Then Barry hit a walk off HR. I had an amazing seat all by myself that I bought off of some rich kid who had one extra. I also saw some great Barry Bonds HR’s there including tying Willie Mays at 660 and some of the last few before breaking the record. Been on the field a couple of times at Corporate events and when my sister was a tour guide)
  • Oakland Coliseum (Was a lot more fun when I was a kid and their were flowers in the outfield instead of Mt. Davis. Lots of memories from their as a kid. We went for the 4th of July game before 3rd grade and when I couldn’t read the score on the scoreboard from across the park I found out I needed glasses.)
  • Wrigley Field (On my way to college)
  • New Comiskey (Senior year of college. Saw The Big Hurt.)
  • Tropicana Field, Tampa Bay (Yankees/Devil Rays)
  • Dodger Stadium (Saw Manny’s first game back home after his steroid suspension. Boring game, the Dodgers were the best team in baseball and didn’t score a run. Had a Dodger Dog. Amazing Jalapenos.)
  • Frank Eck Stadium, Notre Dame
  • Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium, South Bend ($1 beers with the South Bend Silver Hawks)
  • Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, College Station, Pennsylvania (Watched the State College Spikes play well I was waiting for Neville, Bork and Schwartz to drive in, in an RV for tailgating.)
Hockey
  • Madison Square Garden (Saw the Rangers play the Sabres)
  • JACC, Notre Dame
  • San Jose Arena (Saw the Sharks play so long ago it might have been at the Cow Palace but I can’t remember.)
  • Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh (Got Heinz company seats right at center ice to see the Penguins (and a washed up Mario Lemieux) play whatever that new team from Columbus is called.)
  • Yost Ice Arena, University of Michigan (Saw UM/Ohio State when they were ranked 1, 2)
Basketball
  • JACC, Notre Dame
  • Arco Arena, Sacramento (Saw a Kings game their a long time ago with my grandparents. I remember we were way high up.)

This list was compiled in advance of a summer of watching baseball in various locations around the country.
